Beyoncé’s new song, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” shocking many fans apart of the “Bey-hive.”

Beyonce Giselle Knowles, better known as Beyoncé, is safe to say one of the most popular Pop and R&B singers with almost 70 million listeners on Spotify. She recently broke the record at the 2023 Grammy Award Show, adding to her collection with her four new awards bringing her to the most decorated Grammy artist.

Beyoncé is a queen in the music industry, literally, with the nickname “Queen B,” who has been making music since 1996 when she was a member of the popular R&B women’s group, “Destiny’s Child.” In 2003 she came out with her own album, “Dangerously In Love,” the first song “Crazy in Love,” featuring her husband, Jay-Z, blew up and became a very popularR&B/Soul album and song.

Up until Beyoncé’s most recent album, “Renaissance,” released in 2022, Beyoncé has always done R&B and Pop style songs. This changed in 2024 with the release of “Texas Hold ‘Em” which struck fans since this was a country-styled song, the first ever from the artist.

There was plenty of controversy about if Beyoncé should have ever even thought of a country song, but others loved to hear a change in style, especially in a “pop song” styled way.

“Texas Hold ‘Em” was released on February 10, and has had time to grow on many listeners. For the song being Beyoncés first country song released, it is definitely one to add to your favorite playlist. The song is upbeat and fun, while still maintaining some hints of country flair.

The song managed to get number one on the Billboard Hot 10, just one week after debuted as number two.

This wasn’t the end for the artist’s new music style. Beyoncé released an entire album, country-inspired aptly-named “Cowboy Carter” on March 29. The album consists of 27 songs and is a larger album lasting an hour and eighteen minutes. The album includes, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” along with other country-inspired titles like “16 Carriages,” “Dolly P,” “Jolene,” “Levi’s Jeans,” and plenty more.

The album has some secret surprises including a few guest features that The Queen has not announced who, but tells fans to listen in and see if you recognize any fun voices.

The queen is definitely changing up her music and many can be mad at her for this change, but others can enjoy it. Beyoncé definitely is, with her new songs being more upbeat and amusing.
